COMPOSER

Composer

Yannick Wittmann is a passionate composer and arranger. Specialized in vocal music, he has already written for many ensembles. Among them are the Neuer Kammerchor Berlin, the Vokalsystem Berlin and the Kammerchor der Künste Berlin. His piece “Die Stadt” was premiered in June 2021 in the great hall of the Berliner Philharmonie by the Kammerchor des Collegium Musicum Berlin under the direction of Donka Miteva. The choir won the german choir championships in 2022 with two pieces of Yannick Wittmann in his program.

He wrote his piece “Horch” for the Neuer Kammerchor Berlin on the occasion of the competition at the German Choral Festival in Leipzig 2022.
Two of his compositions on the theme “Life in a Big City”, were recorded by the Kammerchor der Künste Berlin under the direction of Maike Bühle and Donka Miteva. One of them can be heard on Spotify.
In June 2019, the Vokalsystem Berlin under the direction of Johannes Wolff presented his two pieces on poems by Clemens Brentano in their entirety for the first time.

His music is published by Helbling and Ferrimontana.

"Yannick Wittmann set Tucholsky's text 'Augen in der Großstadt' to music with wit and interesting effects, ranging from echoes to spoken passages to whispered 'never again!'. It's great to hear that choir directors who compose understand how to write suitable, creative, beautiful, and feasible music for the 'instrument' of the choir!"
